September 7, 2025 – “Trusting God While We Wait”– Rev. Sam Parkes

This Sunday, we continue our Take It on Faith series with a powerful theme: “Trusting God While We Wait.” Worship will open with Felix Mendelssohn’s Finale and a call to remember that, like Moses, the prophets, and the disciples, we are part of a great cloud of witnesses who press forward in faith.

Our scripture from Hebrews 11:1–3, 8–16 will remind us that faith is “the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Dr. Parkes will bring the sermon, “Faith as a Vision,” guiding us to see how God shapes our lives even in the waiting.

We will share in hymns of trust and hope, including God Whose Love Is Reigning O’er Us, My Faith Looks Up to Thee, and Blessed Assurance. Communion will be celebrated at two stations, with gluten-free options available, and ushers ready to serve anyone unable to walk forward.

This service will also be a time of joy as we welcome new members into our church family, joining together in fellowship, prayer, and praise.

We invite you to join us this Sunday as we lean into the mystery of faith, trusting God’s timing, and stepping forward together in hope.
