Bell Choir
The
Carillon Bell Choir is a 4-octave handbell choir using Schulmerich
Handbells. The choir at First United Methodist Church started
in 1964 when Robert and Dorothy Renshaw donated the first
two octaves in memory of their daughter Janet. Additional
octaves have been donated in memory of Ada Christian and Lena
Christensen. Charles Lauer was the original director. When
he retired, Dorothy Renshaw became the new director. The current
director is Margaret Desenberg.
The bell choir rehearses Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Adult Lounge. They contribute special music to the worship services on the fourth Sunday of each month.
We welcome new members. Our only requirement is that you have a desire to belong to this dedicated group, and that you have a knowledge of music. You may contact the director by leaving a message at the church office at 480-969-5577.
